The Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are aware of the impact shopliftings and antisocial behaviour have on our businesses, venues and charities that operate in Poole, especially around this time of the year. The staff and volunteers that assist in the running of the above should not have to tolerate this behaviour or abuse when trying to earn a living.
Today, the team have been out in full-force in #PooleTown. We’ve been working in partnership with UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC) and their partner SWL Security. This multiagency approach enables us to information share, link communications and receive live reports of businesses experiencing antisocial behaviour or crime. Covert (hidden) police officers were deployed in plain clothes to identify shoplifters, whilst uniformed officers conducted high visibility patrols and communicated via two-way radio. BCP controlled CCTV cameras assisted in directing officers on the ground to apprehend individuals suspected to be involved in crime.
Here are a handful of the days activities and positive results: - 5 x Section 35 Dispersal Orders issued to prevent further antisocial behaviour and/or thefts - 3 x Community Resolutions (CR) issued to offenders that have little to no offending history (accompanied with specific conditions that must be met) - 2 x Nuisance males removed from a car park for causing antisocial behaviour - 1 x Banning notice issued to individual by a business partner for theft - 1 x Consideration of prosecution for multiple thefts for which the individual will appear at court - 1 x Vehicle seized, linked to large quantity of stolen goods recovered from vehicle, enquiries continuing - 1 x Male arrested, wanted for a shoplifting offence out of force - 1 x Private E-scooter seized under Section 165 Road Traffic Act
Poole NPT will continue to conduct focused ‘Days of Action’ throughout the year working collaboratively with partner agencies to tackle antisocial behaviour and crime as this approach is far more effective and impactful.
