Witness appeal following fail-to-stop collision near Shillingstone


Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop road traffic collision near Shillingstone.

 

Dorset Police received a report of a collision which occurred on the A357 between Sturminster Newton and Shillingstone at approximately 8.30am on Wednesday 4 December 2024.

 

It was reported a black hatchback vehicle, suspected to be a Ford Fiesta, collided with a blue VW Passat near the turning to Child Okeford.

 

The driver of the black hatchback vehicle reportedly failed to stop at the scene.

 

Police Constable Charlotte Fowler, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

 

“I would also urge anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the vicinity on the morning of Wednesday 4 December 2024 to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

 

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist involved in this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
