NPT News - Weymouth and Portland Fireworks Night 2024

Recently, there have been reports made of scrambler bikes riding up behind Louviers Road in Littlemoor, this is up towards Teddybear woods and surrounding areas. It is causing alarm and distress as well as danger to the public with a risk of serious injuries to occur in the event of a collision.

The Road Traffic Act 1988 (section 34) states that:

β€œIt is illegal to drive or ride a mechanically propelled vehicle without lawful authority on common land, moorland or land not forming part of a road, or on any road which is a footpath, bridleway or restricted byway.” Any scrambler bike or similar are seen doing this then they can be seized under Section 165 of The Road Traffic Act.

Littlemoor NPT would be keen to find out who the owners/perpetrators are, any information on this can be reported to 101 or on the Dorset Police website.
