An update about front counter changes |
||
As of today, our front counter services at Poole, Bridport, Sherborne and Gillingham have transferred, and the public can now access three alternative locations: Bournemouth, Blandford and Weymouth. Opening times can be found on the Dorset Police website. Poole, Bridport, Sherborne and Gillingham police stations remain open for operational work by our frontline officers, staff and volunteers. The changes follow a review, which recognised the public prefer to contact us online and in the heart of neighbourhoods at Community Contact Points and our newly launched Mobile Police Stations. If you need to contact us, you can do so at one of our Mobile Police stations or at a Community Contact Point. Alternatively, you can fill in a web form on the Dorset Police website or call 101. There is a small handful of administration tasks that must be completed at one of the three open stations and two custody suites. This includes producing driving documents in the occasional instances when it has not been possible for officers to do this by the roadside, signing on for bail, sex offender registration and firearms/weapons surrenders. The majority of other tasks can be carried out online, at a Community Contact Point or Mobile Police Station. | ||
