#GILLINGHAMNPT
The team have been out and about dealing with abandoned buildings and the anti-social Behaviour (ASB) that comes with it. We have been made aware of damage caused to several of these buildings in the Gillingham area and have been working to make these safe. From what we have learned, it seems that children are accessing these buildings and sometimes even setting fires. These buildings are extremely dangerous, there's no safe way in and out and exposed hazards are throughout. We are urging parents to know where their children are and encourage them against entering the sites. Any individuals located inside, or having entered the properties will be dealt with robustly.
PC Ash and PCSO Vicky attended the Wellbeing Fair at Riversmeet yesterday, we were lucky to speak with so many from the local community about their concerns and signing them up to Dorset Alert where we share weekly updates, and other news in the local area.
The team has also been dealing with neighbour disputes in the local area, working with other agencies to come to a resolution.
AS always, we have been out on foot where we can in the Town, and out on mobile patrol in the villages. This week we have spent some time in Bourton, as well as Silton and Milton-on-Stour on the lookout for vulnerable locations that people may try and steal items, with advice given to some residents.
The team will be out and about again next week, with PCSO Vicky holding the monthly Community Contact Point (CCP) at Waitrose on Thursday the 24th of September at 10:30am.
