Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of inspectors, sergeants, police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

NPTs provide a visible and accessible policing presence, building strong relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies. They work to identify and tackle local priorities such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention and community safety concerns. By listening to the community and acting on what matters most, they help create safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Dorset.

Anti-social behaviour Location: In the vicinity of Lidl Winton High Street. Issue: Shoplifting offenders and beggars causing alarm to members of the public Planned action to tackle this issue: • Neighbourhood officers will regularly patrol the area and deal with offenders robustly • The Neighbourhood Policing Team will work closely with the local authority’s anti-social behaviour team regarding enforcement Issued 01 July 2026	September Update: • Regular hot-spot policing patrols in Wimborne Rd.. • Well attended Community Contact Point held at Waitrose providing residents updates. • Working closely with partner agencies to resolve ongoing beggars in the area. August Update: • Plain clothed police officer patrols to tackle prolific shoplifting offenders • Multi-agency meeting to address rough sleeping on Wimborne Rd • Regular Hot Spot policing patrols in Wimborne Rd July Update: This is a new priority however we have already completed the following actions. • Partial closure order granted in local property which will prevent offenders using the property and causing anti-social behaviour. • Regular Hot Spot policing patrols in Wimborne Rd. • Neighbourhood policing assisting retail crime team to bring shoplifting offenders to justice.
