East Dorset Urban

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of inspectors, sergeants, police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

NPTs provide a visible and accessible policing presence, building strong relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies. They work to identify and tackle local priorities such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention and community safety concerns. By listening to the community and acting on what matters most, they help create safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Dorset.

ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) in Corfe Mullen Location: Corfe Mullen. Issue: Youths in the local area have been causing a range of issues affecting the local area. Children have been using catapults to shoot are various pieces of road furniture and private property causing damage. Other issues relate to knocking on doors of vulnerable people and frightening them. Planned action to tackle this issue: - Conduct high visibility patrols, - We will hold engagement with the local community, through interaction of foot patrol and Community Contact Points, - We will cork in collaboration with local schools, - We will work in collaboration with partner agencies such as the community safety partnership, working on education and interventions. Issued 01 April 2026	June Update: - Individuals identified for ASB. Police and partners are working together on interventions to address behaviours. - A key pair, who have targeted vulnerable people, have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. - Community Contact Points (CCPs) have taken place in collaboration with Local Councillors to engage with the community. - Work with local schools is taking place. - A number of dispersal notices have been issued and arrests made. Shoplifting Location : Ferndown. Issue: Ferndown has seen an increase in reported shoplifting leading to losses to businesses and concern for the public. Planned action to tackle this issue: - We will complete high visibility patrols, - Targeted action on offenders, - We will hold engagement with local stores on crime prevention. Issued 01 April 2026	June Update: - Reports in offending have decreased, though we are alive to the fact this problem is not resolved.
