Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of inspectors, sergeants, police officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

NPTs provide a visible and accessible policing presence, building strong relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies. They work to identify and tackle local priorities such as anti-social behaviour, crime prevention and community safety concerns. By listening to the community and acting on what matters most, they help create safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Dorset.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Location: Tower Park Issue: Young people causing ASB in the area of Tower Park is a priority we have looked at previously. We implemented a plan to reduce it, unfortunately we have now seen a return of the behaviours which is disrupting people's enjoyment of this space Planned action to tackle this issue: - We will re-open the plan - Identify young people causing ASB and work with BCP ASB Team - We will ensure parents are sighted - We will carry out engagement work - We will set up alerts to understand the impact of our activity Issued 01 July 2026	September Update: - We have identified further young persons for acting anti-socially and are working with BCP ASB Team - We are seeing some progress with some reductions generally - We know there is a small hotspot and we are continuing to target this - We are reviewing our options and will be using PCs and PCSOs to resolve this August Update: - We have increased our patrols in this area - We have highlighted identified individuals to BCP Youth ASB Team for escalation - We have liaised with businesses - We have set up reports to capture the calls for service Actioned 01 October 2026
ASB and Shoplifting Location: Redland Retail Park Issue: A review of our hotspot data showed that there is work to be undertaken in this area to support businesses and prevent people from becoming victims of crime and ASB Planned action to tackle this issue: - We will dedicate PCSOs to be visible to the public - We will engage with shops - We will own investigations and hold those offending to account - We will link in with our shoplifting team - We will set up alerts to monitor our progress Issued 01 July 2026	September Update: - We have increased our highly visible patrols - We have identified 2 repeat offenders and are working with the stores to bring the evidence together for them - We will be engaging with the public and reassuring the retail community - We will monitor the impact the opening of the new M&S store has on the data August Update: - We have ensured we have undertaken proactive patrols - We have liaised with our patrol colleagues - We have continued to push the use of Criminal Behaviour Orders - We will own matters relating to this amongst the team Actioned 01 October 2026
