Breaks to businesses

Location:
Poole Town Centre

Issue:
We have recognised several breaks occurring in the town centre. This is impacting the business community and causing concerns to locals

Planned action to tackle this issue:
- We will review the reports
- NPT will own the investigations and progress them
- We will look for longer-term problem solving work in the form of Criminal Behaviour Orders, Bail Conditions and sending offenders to court
- We will support this work through our hotspot policing model to be visible and connected to the community

September Update:
- We are seeing a reduction in the number of breaks in the town
- We are continuing with the investigations into those existing cases
- We are enforcing any breaches of conditions to not be in the area
- We are working with businesses to reduce the likelihood of repeat offences

August Update:
- We have tasked intel research to overview the issue
- We have arrested 4 people, and remanded one of them in prison
- We are using Crime Scene Investigators to maximise the forensic opportunities
- We are working with the BID, businesses and elected officials

Anti-social Behaviour (ASB)

Location:
Turlin Moor outside the shops and playing fields

Issue:
We have received complaints from the local councillor and members of the public regarding the anti-social use of illegal bikes and vehicles in this space. This is causing concern for locals with the risk of poor driving/riding and safety concerns

Planned action to tackle this issue:

- We will carry out a scan of the reports to identify the key times
- We will ensure we carry out high visibility patrols
- We will use social media messaging to reassure
- We will seize vehicles where our powers allow
- We will use our existing community contacts to understand the local impact

- We have attended local community events in the area
- We have built better intelligence as to those involved.
- We are working with housing colleagues to further build the intel picture
- We will continue to take a zero tolerance approach to those being caught

August Update:
- We have been working with the CCTV operators
- We have obtained images of those involved and are identifying riders
- We will then target them and deal with the offences made out
- We have ensured our team are patrolling this as a key area
